art of rest

We pondered how to help people take their rest seriously. And so came the idea to treat our quiet hours as something of a work of art. Rallying the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as our cultural anchor, the message was to position our dwindling downtime as something really marvelous.

A recurring series, the collab translates notable works of art into wearable masterpieces. Each new release bringing a new artist or iconic work into focus to suggest art isn’t only something to marvel at, but something to slip into.

The Lunya X LACMA campaign turns toward the hours we tend to trade away, and instead position them worthy enough of our recognition.

EARLY ACCESS

Water lilies

An early access moment allowed us to treat the limited release like a special opening—inviting our Lunya Members in first, before the wider public release. Maybe the first time rare art and the phrase, “please do touch the art” coexisted.

The blog became the perfect place to dish more context around the chosen print, diving deeper into its history, its significance, and why we chose to introduce it into the series.

AT THE MUSEUM

The plates came first. Mondrian's renowned compositions, reimagined in the form of a three-course meal. Next, a private viewing of the original canvas. Then a sneak peek of our collection, worn by a select few and museum hosts alike. An afternoon that carried the work beyond the canvas and into real life. Afternoon siestas soon followed (we respectfully assume).
